How to clear a green or cloudy pool

A green or cloudy pool is a sign that your pool water needs attention. How to useBlu52 Clear Shock Treatment

1. Turn off your pool cleaner

Before starting the pool shock treatment, turn off any automatic pool cleaners connected to the pool.

2. Backwash and rinse your pool filter

Backwash your pool filter for up to 2 minutes, then rinse for approximately 20 seconds. Return the filter to the correct Filter setting once complete.

3. Check and balance your pool water

Correct pool water balance is essential for the shock treatment to work effectively.

Check your:

pH: 6.8–7.4
Total Alkalinity (TA): 80–120 ppm

If your pH or total alkalinity is outside the recommended range, adjust it using soda ash or acid according to the instructions on the relevant product.

4. Add the BLU52 Clear Shock treatment

With your pool filter set to Filter, break the Booster seal and pour the contents into the pool weir.

Then break Maintenance 1, 2, 3 and 4 and immediately add their contents to the pool weir.

Once the treatment has been added, run your pool filtration system continuously on the Filter setting until the water clears. This will typically take 1–2 days.

Important: Do not swim, brush or vacuum the pool while the water is being treated and until the pool has cleared.

5. Vacuum the pool

Once the pool water is clear, set the pool filter to Waste and manually vacuum the residue from the bottom of the pool.

After vacuuming, reconnect your automatic pool cleaner and return the filter to the Filter setting.

6. Return to your regular pool maintenance routine

After 7 days, return to your normal weekly pool maintenance routine to help keep your pool water clean, clear and healthy.
