A green or cloudy pool requires Shock Treatment. The BLU52 Clear Shock treatment will clear a pool in 48 hours if the proper water balance has been reached and the filtration system is in good operating order.
- Turn off any pool cleaners that are connected to the pool.
- Backwash your pool for up to 2 minutes, then rinse for 20 seconds before putting the filter back in place.
- Check and adjust your pH and total alkalinity to the recommended levels of pH 6.8–7.4 and 80–120ppm, respectively. Add soda ash or acid as instructed on the product if the pH or TA need to be adjusted.
- Break the Booster seal and pour the contents into the pool weir with the filter set to filter. Break Maintenance 1, 2, 3, and 4 and immediately dump their contents into the pool weir. Run the pool filter constantly in the Filter setting until the pool clears (typically 1–2 days). Until the pool is clear, do not swim, brush, or vacuum. After that, set the pool filter to Waste and vacuum the residue from the pool floor manually.
Reconnect the pool cleaner and switch the pool filter to the Filter setting. After seven days, return to your regular weekly therapy.
