In the early 1980’s, BARACUDA® was launched with a brand new diaphragm technology, differentiating itself from its competitors offering a quieter operation and better manoeuvrability. BARACUDA®’s diaphragm technology is still used nowadays in disc suction pool cleaners.

In 1986, a local Australian began importing and selling BARACUDA® out of an office in Frenchs Forest, New South Wales.

In 1996, Zodiac South Africa acquired the global BARACUDA® business.
